That's what I'm sayin'......

I opened up my Bookreporter.com email tonight and was reading where the author of the newsletter was on a flight recently. Near her was this man who had brought his Kindle along for the ride. He was talking to everyone about his Kindle, telling everyone all about how wonderful it is.

Everyone else was reading a book. When he was all done raving about his Kindle, he sat and read the magazine that the airline provided in his seat.

See, his Kindle died. He didn't charge it before the flight or he forgot his charger or something along those lines.

So, there he is with his $300+ spectacular, you just gotta have this baby, this thing is wonderful, toy and he can't use it.

See, that's what I'm sayin'!

There is nothing as spectacular as having a never needs a charge or battery or outlet, good old fashioned BOOK!

  1. I'm with you! I have no interest whatsoever in a Kindle.

  2. I'm on the bench with ya'll. I can't imagine reading and not having the feel of the book in my hands or the smell of the paper either.

  3. I'd like a Kindle for magazines, newspapers and the occassional 1000+ page tome that is too heavy to lug around. But I'm not spending that kind of money for that. Now, if it was $30 instead of $300, I'd think about it.

  4. Too funny! I'm surprised he was raving about his Kindle so much since he couldn't even use it. I agree with the others...give me a book any day! You can take it anywhere, then pass it on when you're done.

Wanted to let you know that I found your blog through J.Kaye's book blog. Like what you're doing, so keep up the good work! :)
