Am I the only one in the entire world that didn't watch Michael Jackson's funeral today? To tell you the truth, I didn't even know it was on. I didn't have the TV on all day. I was sleeping here and there during the day since I had to get J to work and in between driving and sleeping I was throwing in loads of wash, still unpacking from the shore and cleaning up. I didn't have the time during my busy day to watch the funeral.
Am I the only one that gets annoyed when people drive stupidly because they are so interested and invested in their cell phone conversation that they don't realize that they are veering to the left, over the yellow lines? Or that their speed drops drastically because they don't realize they were driving instead of sitting on their couch, all because they are having an intense cell phone conversation?
Am I the only one that notices that more and more men are driving around talking on the cell phone? When did men talking on the phone become so popular and cool? And who are they talking to? Don't their friends, buddies, pals, have to work?
Am I the only one that thinks all these "stars", these celebrities and the hype that goes with them is a load of crap? I get that these people do a lot of good but if they didn't make some of these really bad choices and decisions, maybe they'd still be around to be doing good.
Am I the only one who would rather be curled up with a book that watching all this coverage on TV?
Probably. But so be it!
I didn't watch any of the funeral either. I actually made a point not to.
ReplyDeleteWhat surprises me...or maybe not...is that the "legitimate" news channels covered it wall-to-wall. There are so many more important news stories that we need to know about.
Yes... a good book makes everything better!
Me too! Remember it was just like this with Elvis and Lennon too when they died. It'll calm down eventually.
ReplyDeleteI'm late to the party, but I was so disappointed that CNN (and the rest of them) covered this story wall to all for pretty much over a week. I have to think that many of their big names were embarrassed.
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch any ofthe funeral.
