Dirty little secret

My blog is my little secret. I know it's open to the public and a few of my friends have the link and follow, but no one in my family knows about this place. Well, actually, that's a lie. My husband and kids "know" about it, they just don't know how to find it, nor do I think they care to bother.

No one else in my extended family know about this little secret world of mine. I intend to keep it that way. It's my semi private little place. My thinking spot. My thoughtful place.

I was reading a few blogs and saw that a few had told their families about their blog and guess what, no more private little place. That would stink!

Funny, I'd rather have complete strangers read me than family. Wonder why that is? It's not like I go on and on about them and I would be afraid of them reading and finding out what I'm thinking or saying. But I guess it's nice to know that I have a place that I can do that.

It's like having your own place where no one can find you. I kind of like that. If only my life was exciting and I had some juicy stuff to share!

  1. Exactly! At first my blog was known only to online friends. Then, the obese poodle found it somehow! Which really pissed me off, but then I said screw it, I'll post what I want! The only other people "IRL" who know about it, as far as I know, are my niece and my BFF, both of whom I told about it. I don't want any other family or old friends to know about it. It's MY spot. Oh and John knows about it, I tell him funny blog stories all the time, but he doesn't read it unless I make him. =)

  2. OMG, Lori! I could have written this almost word for word :o)

You know that, for a while, my blog was private and it was just you guys reading it. When I went "public", I thought about who could, potentially, read it. Then, it dawned on me... I'm not writing anything so extremely private that I'd be embarassed if someone I knew discovered it. I'm writing in my "voice"... by that, I mean I think I "sound" the same in my writing as I do to people who know me personally. I'm not trying to be someone I'm not on my blog... as I know you aren't.

So why the privacy? Because, again, like you, I like having something that's just mine.
