Ashamed of myself!

I really am. I pride myself on being a reader. I enjoy reading and miss it when I don't read. But lately, I've been slacking. This summer schedule and pace has lead me down a dark road of not having enough time to read.
I miss my reading time. Even if it was only for a few minutes, I would sit in the truck and wait for the kids to get out of school with my nose buried in my book. I loved that time! So, no school, no reading time. I always had 1/2 hour after the kids left for school to read while I was in bed getting ready to go to sleep. Now, I just come home at 6AM and crawl into bed and fall asleep. I miss that time!
So to redeem myself, I vow to make more time for reading for myself. I need this and I'm going to do this FOR ME. I need to get back on track. I had a goal of a book a week and I was doing great with my goal. I've had this one book that I'm reading for 2 weeks and I'm on page 73. That's a disgrace!
I'm going to challenge myself again. I'm going to motivate myself again. I'm going to discipline myself again. And I'm going to kick some serious reading butt again!
A book a week or I'm going to take away my library card!

GASP!

  2. They'll never take away your library card. In fact, it should be bronzed and put on display. You'll get back into reading. You're just on a short vacation. ;)

  3. I feel the same way. Sitting in the parking lot waiting for the kids was pure reading/listening to books on CD time. I didn't even feel like I was putting other things off to read... what else could I do?!?

We're headed to the pool today, I'll do a lot of reading :o)

Definitely agree with Karen...your library card should be bronzed and displayed ;o)
